A recent survey carried out by electrical contractors, AEL, stated that by the year 2022, 1 in 5 boutique hotel guests will own an Electric Vehicle (EV).
Not only this, but access to charging services could play a deciding factor when those guests are considering where to stay. The survey suggests that this could affect up to 87% of EV drivers and their decision-making process.
This is a considerably sizeable market for boutique hotels, and therefore they must be prepared for such a shift in the market, or risk losing out to competitors that are ready.
The reality of this means that hoteliers will have to invest in offering their corporate customers EV charge points during their stay. But it is not just as simple as having a couple of charge points installed in the car-park, hoteliers must make sure that they have an adequate amount of charge points, regular accessibility to them, and be able to manage and track their use.
