Situated within 26 acres of picturesque formal woodland in South Yorkshire, Wortley Hall has a rich history dating all the way back to 1165. Originally the ancestral home of the Earls of Wharncliffe the Lords of the Manor of Wortley and remaining within the Wharncliffe family for many centuries as well as being occupied by the Army during the 1939-45 war.

The Wharncliffe family leased the hall out in 1950 and in 1951 Wortley Hall was formally opened as an educational and holiday centre, for the trade union, labour and co-operative movement. Today Wortley Hall is now a company in its own right and is still a member of the co-operative union.

A popular wedding venue hosting 49 bedrooms, 2 self-catering cottages, conference facilities, caravan pitches and the Ruddy Duck restaurant, this is a grand venue steeped in history and its heritage and values are still strong aspects of its identity.

Client’s Vision

The General Manager of Wortley Hall knew what software solution the business required and being a previous Hotel Perfect user, he knew that we could provide them with everything they needed.

With the launch of a new website they required an integrated Direct Booking Engine which responds to mobile devices and which is fully in line with their branding and image. Channel Management was also required enabling reservations to be received from OTA’s automatically into their Hotel Perfect calendar.

The Ruddy Duck restaurant required EPoS terminals & tablets and a system where they could charge directly to room and function bills. Being a large wedding and events venue, the integration of bar and hotel communications needed to be seamless and compliment the hard working team.

What We Delivered

Being an all year round venue holding over 200 weddings per year, it was decided that the install at Wortley Hall would be implemented in two phases. With the accommodation and events aspect of the business being first. Our dedicated trainer worked closely with the hotel’s team to help them gain confidence in their new Property Management System particularly the Group / Events module. As with all Hotel Perfect training, the training schedule was personal and tailored to the hotel and the requirements of the business.

Working alongside Channel Management and Direct Bookings, the Implementation of a Dynamic Pricing plan will save the reservation team hours of updating rates and availability on their channels whilst also helping the business to achieve maximum revenue margins all round.

The second phase of the install at Wortley Hall was the food and beverage area, The Ruddy Duck restaurant. With a requirement of EPoS terminals and also hand held tablet devices so that staff can be extra efficient and able to serve customers with ease.

Following the successful and interactive training sessions from both phases, the team at Wortley Hall are able to use Hotel Perfect products to benefit them in their daily routines whilst achieving much higher revenue and an increase in direct bookings.
