RED Hotels have an inspirational presence in Cornwall and have won multiple awards for their two four-star hotels overlooking Mawgan Porth. The Bedruthan Hotel and Spa is set into the cliff above the beach and has spent over 50 years in the family, allowing it to improve with age like a fine wine. The Bedruthan’s Herring restaurant was named Restaurant of the Year at the 2014 Cornwall Tourism Awards and uses seasonal local produce to create innovative dishes all year round.

Meanwhile, the Scarlet is a luxury hotel for adults only, meaning that guests can escape for a rejuvenating break without any children in sight. All rooms have their own outside spaces, whether it be a courtyard or balcony, and have breath-taking views over the gardens, beach or cliffs. The Scarlet Restaurant has spectacular sea views and offers dinner guests an entertainment experience with local musicians playing during dining sessions. To complete a relaxing stay with the Scarlet, the hotel also has a spa that offers Ayurvedic treatments to enhance your holistic well-being.

Client’s Vision

RED Hotels wanted to install Hotel Perfect’s Version 5 property management software (PMS) to take full advantage of modules like dynamic pricing, package management and Channel Management Systems. The PMS hotel software needed to be proficient enough to deal with all of the hotel’s complex needs and encompass the Bedruthan’s intricate and detailed pricing system.

The Scarlet offers a very modern and personal check-in service, which is relatively unheard of in the hotel industry as there is no front reception desk. The Hotel Perfect PMS was able to support the different types of guest check-in’s for both hotels, making it an ideal match for the RED group.

What We Delivered

Hotel Perfect was able to simultaneously integrate the version 5 PMS in both hotels ensuring a smooth transition took place. The Dynamic Pricing Modules were each configured to adjust not only on the number of rooms available, but also the amount of rooms available in each price band.

The Channel Management System and Online Booking solution were both able to provide real-time updates to the Scarlet and Bedruthan Hotel and Spa websites, as well as the Online Travel Agencies (OTA’S), meaning that both availability and pricing was constantly being updated to provide the highest level of accuracy.

The RED Hotel group also wanted to implement an Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) module to their restaurants. The EPOS software now interfaces with the version 5 PMS which can automatically deduct inclusive allocations from a customer’s bill. The Hotel Perfect version 5 hotel management system offers the RED group in-depth reports from their leisure facilities and restaurants so that the owners can keep an eye on all areas of their business.
