Oceana is a group consisting of three-star deluxe hotels in the Bournemouth region, The Cumberland, The Suncliff and The Cliffeside, while also having a four-star property, La Verniaz, in France. The hotels are situated on the seafront overlooking Bournemouth Bay and have some of the best AA three-star hotel ratings on the south coast. The Cumberland is one of the most well-known names in Bournemouth luxury hotels and takes Miami life inspiration that can be seen through the luscious green palms, views of hot white beaches and a lido deck.

The Suncliff is based in the middle of the three-hotel resort and has the sea views with award winning gardens to boot. It’s ideally placed for those guests who want to visit the Bournemouth International Centre, Pavillion Theatre and Boscombe Surf Reef. However, those wanting a quiet luxury break may be drawn to The Cliffeside which has panoramic sea views from many of the bedrooms, a friendly modern décor throughout, accompanying a warm and intimate vibe.

Being in such a favourable location and housing over 320 bedrooms in the resort, as well as being popular for weddings, conferences and other events, Oceana Hotels appeal to a wide range of groups.

Oceana Hotels have a long history of working with Hotel Perfect and originally utilised the version 4 legacy hotel management system. As technology advanced, Oceana Hotels opted to upgrade to version 5 of Hotel Perfect’s property management system (PMS), which offered many more benefits.

Version 5 allowed Oceana to not just look at the performance of one hotel, but to look at all three as a group. With a constant high-volume influx of website traffic across the three Bournemouth websites, it was important that Oceana Hotels could utilise a flexible yet detailed property management system that would be able to enhance their Direct Booking Software.

It was also important to have a flexible rate system that monitored availability and changed prices accordingly. Hotel Perfect installed a dynamic pricing module to make sure the hotel group maximised its profit by offering the right price at the most opportune times.

What We Delivered

It took the Hotel Perfect team just a few weeks to upgrade and install the PMS software into all three hotels. Oceana also wanted to utilise some of the additional Hotel Perfect hospitality software solutions such as dynamic pricing, guest communications, restaurant and event modules.

The call logging module monitors each bedroom’s phone charges and adds it to the overall bill while the Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) interface allows guests to dine in the resort and add it to the bedroom tab which is all stored in the Hotel Perfect management system. The EPoS software means that guests have no requirement to carry cash with them and keeps all details of their stay on one easy and reliable system. The events module is a great way of storing and organising data for a host of events such as weddings, conferences and parties, saving the hotel a substantial amount of time when booking.

With such a large group of staff spanning all three of the Bournemouth hotels, the Hotel Perfect PMS needed to be taught effectively to all. The Hotel Perfect PMS trainers were able to specialise the way they trained in order to accommodate everyone and ensure confidence across the board for when the new version 5 went live.
