Company Profile
Littlecourt is a quaint collection of five cottages in Sidmouth and have a long history dating back to 1802 when they were built for the Duke and Duchess of St Albans. The cottages are just a very short walk away from both the town centre and sea front. Sharing beautiful gardens laden with a variety of plants, flowers, topiary and a water feature, the cottages are a tranquil place to stay when visiting Devon.
The self-catering cottages have all received VisitBritain 4* Gold Awards and the gardens themselves have won many accolades and featured on BBC TV shows. The cottages range from between one and three bedrooms and can house up to six people, meaning that they’re great for a family stay or a romantic getaway. With plenty of space in each one including a kitchen, living and dining areas, each cottage offers a comfortable alternative to a traditional hotel.
Client’s Vision
Littlecourt Cottages had been long-standing customers of the Hotel Perfect version 4 legacy software and were keen to upgrade their in-house computer system and experience the Hotel Perfect version 5 property management system (PMS) and all its benefits. The technology and add-on modules were desirable to Littlecourt Cottages as the business could be allowed to run more smoothly and have a domino effect onto enhancing guest experience and reducing staff workload.

What We Delivered
Our Hotel Perfect training and engineering team travelled to Sidmouth and stayed for almost a week while they upgraded Littlecourt Cottages to the version 5 PMS. The team also installed a telephone call logger to monitor the costs from in-room calls. Littlecourt cottages also wanted to include postcode lookup software to make entering addresses simpler and quicker, therefore streamlining the booking process. All of their existing bookings were transported into the new PMS software and the data was moved over in one smooth motion.
As Littlecourt had previously operated using the Hotel Perfect version 4 PMS, the owners noticed the similarities in version 5 and were able to confidently adapt to the upgraded system. The new features and enhancements in the integrated hotel management system were an exciting learning curve that innovated the way Littlecourt went about using reports and functions and reaped rewards, allowing the owners to focus on making the guest experience even better.
