The Hotel Riviera is a family-owned hotel based on the sea front in Sidmouth and has an AA 4-star rating, as well as holding Visit England, Conde Nast and Good Hotel Guide Accolades. Taking inspiration from the south of France, each room is uniquely designed to reflect the hotel’s character.
Additionally, the Hotel Riviera restaurant holds two AA rosettes and boasts a stunning reputation when it comes to international dishes with an English twist. They have a vast selection of seafood dishes that are a reflection of the hotel’s cheffing team making the most of the local produce.
As the Hotel Riviera is based in the centre of the Sidmouth Esplanade and overlooks the beach and Lyme Bay, it’s a popular place for weddings and events. Whether it’s a grand ceremony with over 100 guests or an intimate event, the Hotel Riviera caters for all.
The Hotel Riviera was keen to upgrade their Hotel Perfect Property Management System (PMS) from Version 4 to Version 5 to benefit from the newer features, as well as adding some other perks to the all-in-one hotel software solution.
The Hotel Riviera wanted a sleek Direct Booking engine that would not only be able to update its prices automatically dependent on availability, but also integrate seamlessly into its website. Other hotel management system requirements included a better ability to plan events and everyday restaurant dining, as well as being able to charge guests for meals and bar purchases easily and most importantly, accurately.
What We Delivered
The Hotel Perfect engineers and installation team spent a lot of time pre-project planning with the Hotel Riviera to ensure that it covered all of its needs and everything was perfectly designed for maximum fluidity. The Hotel Riviera were keen to make sure their system did precisely what they wanted, with the best hardware available, and therefore they spared no expense in the process.
One exciting addition for the Hotel Riviera came in the form of a new Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) system, which included tablets in both the foyer and out on the terrace. The Hotel Riviera can now bill guests for any food and drink purchases extremely easily, meaning bedroom tabs are kept up to date without a guest ever needing to pay immediately or even carry a wallet with them when they’re on site. Additionally, the EPoS can keep track of any changing prices throughout the day, as well as record staff clock-ins to help monitor wages.
The Hotel Perfect installation team also added an Direct Booking system and dynamic pricing element to the hotel PMS for the Riviera as well. To save time manually updating bedroom prices, the Dynamic Pricing module assesses availability and automatically adjusts rates on the hotel reservation software to optimise the hotel’s occupancy and maximise revenue. A call-logging module was implemented to allow easy and efficient call billing, while the Hotel Riviera restaurant team now also benefit from the restaurant and events modules which make storing details for weddings, dinners and functions easy and accessible in one simple hotel software solution.
