On Brand Styling at its Best – Integrated Booking Engine Revolutionises Hotel Packages and Breaks
There are many providers that offer Property Management Systems, so what really sets them apart? Navigation is one major point, how easy is it to use? Will it be quick and reliable? Will there be a seamless integration of an Online Booking Engine onto the website; furthermore, will it be on brand? And perhaps most importantly, will the booking engine on the company’s website be accurate, able to showcase packages, and drive direct bookings?
Customers want accurate information quickly, they won’t tolerate a website that isn’t simple to navigate and easy to understand. Recently, iconic hotel The Scarlet (part of Red Hotels), made the decision to break away from the hotel consortium it was a part of and tailor the business’ technology to their specific requirements.
The Scarlet’s sister hotel, the Bedruthan, has used the Hotel Perfect PMS and additional solutions, including EPoS and Rate Management, for a number of years and have built up a strong relationship with Hotel Perfect over time. The Scarlet liked how the Hotel Perfect Online Booking Engine was able to visually and responsively display the Bedruthan’s data and how easy it was to navigate. The upsell opportunities it offered in comparison to the other Online Booking Engine they’d used under the consortium’s umbrella became an influential factor for change.
The Scarlet were utilising a SynXis booking engine, which they’d found to be extremely rigid in terms of branding and configuration, and didn’t offer booking automation. Furthermore, it was lacking the ability to showcase all of the Scarlet’s packages and breaks, which could potentially cost the business bookings, reliability and profit. Before The Scarlet installed our Online Booking Engine, there was a lot of time being spent manually changing rates and availability, but since the install of our Online Booking Engine, it is now simple and automatic!
During the initial conversation, The Scarlet asked Hotel Perfect whether it would be possible to install a booking engine on their website that represented their brand more effectively. Not only this, but the Scarlet wanted a booking engine that could be tailored to their multiple spa breaks, as well as making sure the booking engine worked well with all of their other products and packages. But most importantly, they needed an Online Booking Engine that could convert direct bookings effectively.
Hotel Perfect invited The Scarlet to meet and discuss their needs so they could specialise the booking engine for them in a way that allows the customer to see all of the Scarlet’s packages immediately.
The Scarlet offers 18 packages as well as additional extras, meaning the Hotel Perfect team had to deliver a booking engine that was easy to use as well as being styled to be completely ‘on brand’.
By fully integrating the system, The Scarlet’s team are offered more functionality; there’s no more manual entry or hours of time being wasted. The Scarlet’s booking engine now shows guests every type of package available on their selected dates, before they choose a bedroom—a clever move by Hotel Perfect designed to upsell packages, generate more revenue and showcase all the available options in an easy to navigate user interface.
Customers are always able to see every available option, (eg: bedroom with breakfast, bedroom with dinner and breakfast, a specialised break or a tailored package), meaning guests are never dead-ended without choice or told there is no availability.
The project highlights Hotel Perfect’s elasticity when it comes to its products, and its desire to innovate and advance moving forward. The Scarlet now has full control over what packages it has for sale, while its guests are now more likely to find availability and make a booking. Additionally, the Scarlet is the first of Hotel Perfect’s clients to showcase its packages in this way, making it stand out significantly from other luxury hotels in the UK.
