The strangest hotel jobs in the world
07/02/2011
Ever wondered what it would be like working at one of the world's top hotels?
Well you may be in for a surprise - it's not all glitz and glamour.
Quirky hotel jobs are growing in popularity, with leading hotels worldwide employing people as bed warmers, pigeon chasers and more, according to Hotels.com.
The Holiday Inn Kensington in London tops the weird list with their exclusive service of a Human Bed Warmer
On request, a member of staff dons a special head-to-toe suit and hops into guests' beds for five minutes before they retire for the night, moving around under the sheets to create a nice and cosy sleeping environment.
Meanwhile, the Hotel Andaz in London has also taken customer care to a new level with its bedtime story service.
Guests - no matter their age - can call for a Bedtime Storyteller to come to their room and read them the book of their choice.
Keeping with the theme, the Barnsley Gardens Resort in Georgia, US, has its own in-house Fairy Godmother, who spends her time making guests' romantic wishes come true.
From proposals to birthday celebrations, the Fairy Godmother is employed to help guests create unique and long-lasting, magical memories.
From the magical to the scary - Rambagh Palace in India employs two people as Pigeon Chasers. Their job? To stand in the courtyard and scare birds away by waving a large flag...for nine hours, every day.
